Hi!
I wanted to let you all know that Jack
was discharged from Rehab
yesterday. He made incredible progress
while he was there, much better
than was expected. He has moved into
Sunrise Assisted Living in Cary
for a 30 day respite stay to finish up
some physical, occupational and
speech therapy and
get a little more steady on his feet.
He would love to have visitors, calls,
postcards, etc. He has his cell
phone, (919) 961-5457, and
the address is:
1206
W Chatham St
Room 230
Cary, NC 27513
He is, of course, free to come and go as
he pleases, and have visitors
at any time. I know he would love to get
out and about, and he's still
not able to drive at this point. He is
using a walker to get around
right now, and gets tired more quickly,
but even a short trip out
would be great. If you are planning a
visit, just call first in case
he has a therapy or doctor's appt.
Thanks so much for all your support!
Jackie

Hi Gang. Hope you and your families are
doing well.
Robert sent me a card with photos of the
Wednesday crew, the yard, and
Halloween. It's a great card and really made
my day. Thanks for all
your support on the Halloween trains.
Your enthusiasm made the whole
thing a success.
My medical situation is improving daily
and I'm scheduled to leave the
hospital on December 29th.
I look forward to seeing you all again.
Jack

Hi everyone,
Dad has been in WakeMed Rehab for a
little over a week and he is making
great progress!! He's really doing
well and is in good spirits. At this
point, he's eating meals in the dining
hall (real food and honey
thickened liquid), doing PT, OT and
Speech every day for an hour each,
and resting in his room in his
"down time". He looks good, and he's been
enjoying visits from friends and
family. Thanks to everyone for
supporting him and us during this
time.
Visiting hours
are 4 - 8 on weekdays, and 12 - 8 on weekends. He eats
lunch at 12 and dinner at 5 in the rehab dining room, and that's
also a
good time to stop by and visit, plus
it's a larger space to sit than his
room.
here's his info at the hospital

If you're planning a visit, here's the
best way to park and go in -- take
Newbern Ave exit, go past Sunnybrook
Rd, then turn left into the 2nd
entrance (the Cardiac/Heart Center
sign), and park in the parking deck on
the right. There's a footbridge on the
3rd floor that will take you into
a building with an information desk,
and they can give you directions to
the rehab center.
Call me if you have any questions.
